Welcome to Issue number 25 of the Judgment is coming newsletter. May God bless you as you are encouraged and as you eagerly await the soon return of the Lord Jesus! The signs of impending judgment are all around us! It is a source of encouragement to the Christian as we know the Lord Jesus will very soon return!
As you know we are in the last days before the return of the Lord Jesus and judgment upon planet earth. This means right now people must choose to accept the Lord Jesus and salvation or to reject. In this issue there is just one topical artical. Hell is very real and it is a place to be avoided at all costs. Our finite minds can barley comprehend the horrors of hell. However, the Lord Jesus who is God in human flesh knows all about this terrible place. He has given many warnings for people so they will NOT go to hell. This is why God became a man and died on the cross to pay the penalty for sins. The Lord offers salvation as a gift through the Lord Jesus to all who will receive it! Sadly, due to pride or love of darkness, sin, or riches many will reject salvation. By rejecting the Lord Jesus and salvation a person is telling God that they choose to spend their eternity in hell.

In the Bible hell, the lake of fire, is a terrible place for a person to go. It is so terrible that God became a man (the Lord Jesus) and died on the cross to pay the penalty for hell. God now offers salvation to all who will receive His gift of salvation which is only found in the Lord Jesus. All men and women must make a choice. Do they want to spend eternity in hell paying for their own sins? Or, do they want to accept the Lord Jesus who paid the penalty for sin and offers the gift of salvation and eternal life?
The choice is simple and a person's eternal destiny is determined by the choice made. Will YOU receive or reject the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Saviour?
This article covers some of the experiences and emotions of a lost person who dies with his sins unforgiven. This means he must pay the penalty for sins himself and that penalty is eternal torment in the lake of fire.
We are told in the Bible that a lost person in hell will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing his teeth? What does that mean? Lets look and see!
WEEPING
A person in the lake of fire (hell) will be weeping because of the extreme pain. The pain will continue forever with no rest. As a result of the pain and torment the natural reaction is to weep.
Matt 25
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall
be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Luke 13
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me,
all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham,
and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and
you yourselves thrust out.
WAILING
Along with weeping, a lost person will also be wailing in hell. This is different from weeping. You see, after the initial suffering in hell a person will move from weeping to wailing. The lost person will begin to think. He will realize that he rejected the Lord Jesus, the only Saviour. As a result there is no hope of ever leaving hell. He will suffer torment forever and ever in hell. This is the result of the choice to reject the Lord Jesus and to pay for ones own sins. That penalty is eternity in hell. The hopelessness of his situation will cause the lost person to wail. You see the lost person rejected salvation. Therefore he will spend forever paying for his own sins in the lake of fire. There is no hope of hell ending. There is no hope of escape. There is just no hope! This is why the lost person will wail.
Matt 13
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it
be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of
his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and
gnashing of teeth.
A lost person may call out to the Lord Jesus whom he rejected here on earth but nothing will happen. A person's eternal fate is forever sealed after death. The time to accept salvation through the Lord Jesus is while alive here on earth. Once a person dies, his eternal fate is sealed. If he rejected the Lord Jesus then he died in his sins. This means his sins are unforgiven and the penalty is eternity suffering in hell, the lake of fire.
Let me add this point: There are no atheists in hell! Everyone in hell knows God exists. Sadly, it is too late!
GNASHING OF TEETH
What is gnashing of teeth? In the Bible it is used several ways. It can be a reaction of hatred, anger, pain, or hopelessness.
Here are examples of gnashing of the teeth as a reaction of extreme hatred
Lam 2
16 All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash
the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that
we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
Job 16
9 He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth;
mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
Gnashing the teeth can also occur as a reaction of anger mixed with hatred. Many times when lost people hear the truth, it upsets them. They react with anger and hatred while gnashing their teeth. A good example would be the reaction of people who claim to be "Christian" but are addicted to Satan's rock music or occult entertainment like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Narnia. The truth upsets these people and they can react with anger. See the following verse:
Acts 7
54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed
on him with their teeth.
The Bible shows that extreme anger or hatred can cause a person to grind or gnash his teeth. When this happens a person's facial and jaw muscles are tense and the teeth grind together.
People also gnash their teeth as a reaction to the extreme pain of hellfire and the hopelessness of their eternal condition.
Here are some examples of lost people weeping in pain and gnashing their teeth while in hell:
Matthew 8
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there
shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 22
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away,
and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 24
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth.
Lost people will be wailing and gnashing their teeth in hell. They will understand the hopelessness of their situation. They could have been saved. They could have received the Lord Jesus. But due to their love of pleasure and the treasures of this world the choice was made to reject God's salvation in the Lord Jesus. As a result they must pay for their own sins and that penalty is suffering forever in torment in the lake of fire. The lost will wail because of their rejection of God and His salvation and the fact that their choice was eternal with no turning back. They will grind/gnash their teeth in agony as they understand the salvation which was available on earth but was rejected. Here are some verses showing the lost wailing and gnashing their teeth:
Matt 13

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and

49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and
sever the wicked from among the just,
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and
gnashing of teeth.
As we have seen lost people will have several emotions in hell. They will weep
while they suffer extreme pain. They will wail at the understanding of their
eternally hopeless condition. Finally, Lost people will gnash their teeth because
of the following emotions:
1) weeping due to the extreme pain
2) wailing because of their hopeless condition of rejecting salvation in
the Lord Jesus
3) In hatred toward God for being in hell
4) In anger toward God for being in hell
DARKNESS
The lost person will also be terrified in hell because he will not see anything. The Bible describes the lake of fire as outer darkness. Jude describes hell as being a place where the blackness of darkness will last forever. Here are a couple of verses that talk about the darkness of hell, the lake of fire:
Matt 25
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall
be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Jude 1
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to
whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
Hell will be terrifying. The lost person will suffer torment while weeping, wailing, and gnashing his teeth and all of it alone in complete darkness. Even today people are naturally afraid of extreme darkness. It is scary to many people to be somewhere alone with a total absence of light. This is what hell will be like! When a lost person brags that he wants to go to hell to be with his friends, he is showing is complete ignorance. Yes, his friends may be in hell with him, but they will all be separated and alone for all eternity as they suffer in the lake of fire.
A TERRIBLE LIE
Here is that lie that is very popular today: "Jesus only spoke of love in the Bible" or "God is too loving to send anyone to hell".
That is a terrible lie from the very pit of hell! The Lord Jesus is God manifest in human flesh and He spoke more on hell than anyone in the Bible. The Lord Jesus came to earth to die for our sins so we would not have to perish forever in the lake of fire. He came to provide an escape from hell which is available to all who will receive the gift of salvation which is only found in Him. The Lord Jesus literally became sin and paid the penalty for sin so we would not have to. He is the one who spoke more on hell than anyone else in the Bible! The Lord Jesus knows how terrible hell is and does not want people to go there.
You see before God our sin must be paid for. Either we pay for our sins ourselves by suffering forever in the lake of fire.... or .... we receive the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and accept the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life only found in Him. God is a God of love and mercy. He desires people to be saved and spend their eternity with Him in heaven. On the other hand, God is also a God of justice and sin MUST be paid for. God's love and mercy meets at the cross of Calvary where the Lord Jesus paid the penalty for sin. Salvation is now offered and is available to everyone who will receive it through the Lord Jesus.
Before God our sins must be paid for. Either accept the Lord Jesus and the gift of salvation or pay for your sins forever in hell. This is why the Lord Jesus gave the most warnings about hell than anyone else in the Bible. The Lord knows how terrible that place is to the lost soul and He does not want anyone to go to that place. But people must make a choice to accept or reject salvation only found in the Lord Jesus.
Sadly, lost people reject the Lord Jesus as they love their sin and darkness. Repenting of sin and accepting the Lord Jesus is also a pride issue for lost people. They do not want to admit they are lost hellbound sinners in need of a saviour. That would hurt their pride. Instead, lost people try to come to God on their own terms while rejecting God's plan of salvation.
It really boils down to the fact that lost people love sin and darkness and do not want to change. Salvation is rejected because of a love of sin and the pleasures that sin gives for a season. Therefore, the lost will not repent and turn from sin to the Lord Jesus for salvation. Here is what the Bible says:
John 3
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
As you can see lost people love their sin and darkness and do not want to be saved. As a result they reject the Lord Jesus and salvation. At death their eternity will be spent in hell, the lake of fire.
The warnings given by the Lord Jesus are ignored because of the love of sin and evil and its short lived pleasures.
MANY WARNINGS GIVEN FROM THE LORD JESUS ON HELL
We will look at several verses in the book of Matthew just to see some of the many warnings given on hell by the Lord Jesus. Remember the lost world believes the lie that the God is too loving to send anyone to hell. Sadly, God's justice is ignored. Here are a sample of warnings from the book of Matthew on hell from the Lord Jesus who is God manifest in human flesh!
Matt 3
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism,
he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from
the wrath to come?
The Lord Jesus warned the false religious leaders of his day that they were going to be objects of God's wrath.
Matt 3
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every
tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Here the Lord Jesus warns that the unsaved will be cast into the fire.
Matt 3
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather
his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
The saved=wheat and the lost=chaff. It is the chaff(lost people) who will be gathered and burned with unquenchable fire in hell.
Matt 5
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a
cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his
brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say,
Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Warning of coming judgment and hell fire.
Matt 5
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee:
for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee:
for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and
not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Hell is so terrible that it would be better to lose a body part rather than to be cast into to hell.
Matt 7
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the
way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto
life, and few there be that find it.
There is a broad road which leads to desctuction (hell) and there is a narrow way to heaven (salvation through Jesus only). Few will come to the Lord Jesus to be saved.
Matt 7
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast
into the fire.
The lost are cast into the fire (hell)
Matt 7
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.
These are very sad verses. There are lost people who are so deceived that they think they are Christians. But they do not know the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. They will be case into hell.
Matt 8
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Warning of hell with weeping and gnashing of teeth
Matt 8
28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes,
there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding
fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus,
thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Here is a testimony from some of Satan's fallen angels. These spirit beings have been alive for thousands of years and before the fall they stook before the throne of God. They showed great fear as they know their time of torment in hell is coming.
Matt 10
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom
and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Warning of judgment to come. Hell is the end result. This verse also shows that there are degrees of judgment in hell.
Matt 10
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Physical death is nothing compared to being cast into hell.
Matt 11
21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty
works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would
have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the
day of judgment, than for you.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down
to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done
in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom
in the day of judgment, than for thee.
More warnings of the day of judgment where the end result is hell. These verses also show degrees of punishment in hell.
Matt 12
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall
give account thereof in the day of judgment.
The day of judgment is coming. It is still future.
Matt 12
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall
condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a
greater than Jonas is here.
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation,
and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to
hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
More about the day of judgment where the end is hell.
Matt 13
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I
will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them
in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
The lost and wicked are the tares who will be burned (in hell)
Matt 13
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it
be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of
his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and
gnashing of teeth.
Hell is fire, a furnace of fire with wailing and gnashing of teeth. Lost people will be gathered up and cast into hell.
Matt 13
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and
sever the wicked from among the just,
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and
gnashing of teeth.
Lost people are separated and cast into hell where they will wail and gnash their teeth.
Matt 18
8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast
them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed,
rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
Warning about going to hell where the fire is everlasting (forever and ever) Also, notice that people just don't go to hell. They are cast into it after judgment.
Matt 21
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will
let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the
fruits in their seasons.
Wicked are destroyed.
Matt 21
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever
it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Wicked are broken, fallen, grinded to powder.
Matt 22
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take
him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.
Hell is outer darkness (no light) with weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matt 23
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows'
houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the
greater damnation.
15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and
land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more
the child of hell than yourselves.
There are degrees of punishment in hell based on the wickedness of the lost person.
Matt 23
33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
The lost cannot escape hell. They will be cast into the lake of fire and there is nothing they can do about it if they die unsaved.
Matt 24
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The lost also includes the religious hypocrites who will be in hell weeping and gnashing their teeth.
Matt 25
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall
be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The lost will be cast into the outer darkness of hell and shall weep and gnash their teeth.
Matt 25
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye
cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Hell is everlasting (forever and ever). It is a place of judgment and torment prepared for the devil and his fallen angels. Lost mankind goes their be choice by rejecting God's salvation!
Matt 25
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the
righteous into life eternal.
The lost will be in hell forever and ever suffering torment. It is not the place to go! Hell is so terrible that the Lord Jesus gave many warnings in the Bible so people would accept salvation and not go to hell. Sadly, the majority of people do not want God's salvation!
CONCLUSION
In this article we have covered some of the emotions lost people experience in hell. They will be weeping from the pain. They will wail because hell is forever with no escape and no hope. They will gnash their teeth as they 1) weep 2) wail, 3) suffer in anger 4) suffer in hatred
We also refuted the popular lie and deception today that teaches that God is too loving to send anyone to hell. We saw several warnings from the Lord Jesus from the book of Matthew. Those warnings are just a sample as there are many more in the Bible warning of hell. The Lord Jesus warned more than anyone about hell therefore it is a place to be avoided at all cost!

Hell is a Place to Fear Going to
Luke 12
5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath
killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Hell is a Place of Eternal Separation from God
2 Thess 1
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of
the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
All the good things of earth are forgotten in hell where the lost will suffer torment forever and ever with no rest!
Rev 14
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without
mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and
brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have
no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever
receiveth the mark of his name.
This hard look at hell should change your estimation/understanding of sin. You do not want to die "in your sins" without the Lord Jesus as your Saviour.
The Lord Jesus died for sinners and he is the only way to be saved. Do not die in your sins as the punishment is HELL. Consider right now where you will spend eternity? Make your choice now before it is too late! Repent of your sins and accept the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour!
John 8
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye
believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Rev 20
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead
were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according
to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered
up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according
to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into
the lake of fire.
