Welcome to Issue number 7 of the Judgment is coming newsletter. May God bless you as you are encouraged and as you eagerly await the soon return of the Lord Jesus! The signs of impending judgment are all around us! It is a source of encouragement to the Christian as we know the Lord Jesus will very soon return!
Truly the signs of impending judgment upon this sinful world are all around us. Just a quick look at the daily news will confirm that fact. There are all kinds of natural disasters, disease, threats of war or terrorism, and all kinds of evil activities openly displayed in the world.
In light of Bible prophecy what is going on? Here is what I believe is happening in light of Bible prophecy and end time events.
God is planning to use Israel to judge a people, the Edomites. Their judgment is that all the Edomites will be destroyed. Here is the prophecy found in the Bible:
Oba 1
18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph
a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle
in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of
the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
Who are the Edomites? They are the Arabs today from within Israel that threaten the very existence of that nation. According to this prophecy these hostile people will all be destroyed. The day is coming when there will be no more PLO, no more Hezbollah, and no more Arab-Islamic hostiles within the borders of Israel seeking to destroy that nation. Instead of Israel being destroyed, these enemies will be destroyed by God through the nation of Israel. This is what the prophecy is saying above in verse 18. Also keep in mind that this prophecy has never yet occurred.
So, in light of the 33 day war with Israel and the terrorists, what is happening. I believe Israel is preparing their enemies for their own destruction. Yes, Israel looked a bit weak and these hostile people have rejoiced in that fact. But, I believe Israel is "baiting" them and letting them feel confident that a war against Israel can be won using their military toys from Russia to Iran and Syria.
All this means there will be another war coming against Israel. This coming war will not be limited to just Israel vs Lebanon. Instead, other nations will be involved. Expect Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and others to join in this attempt to destroy Israel. They will all confidently attack Israel because they have been deceived into thinking that they can actually destroy Israel.
At that time Israel will unleash the full force of their military. Remember, Israel has a military force so powerful it is in the top 5 in the world. The end result of this war will be the following:
1) The Edomites (PLO and hostile Arabs within Israel) will be completely wiped out. This will fulfill the prophecy in Oba 1:18 quoted above. Israel is building a massive security wall. This wall separates their people from the hostile Arabs and it gives protection from terrorists. Expect more withdrawals from the West bank which will separate the population of Israel from those hostile to Israel. This way the hostile Edomites can be wiped out without harming the citizens of Israel. In the coming war expect the hostile Edomites to be the first to attack Israel.
2) After the war starts, expect other hostile nations to get involved and attempt to destroy Israel. Many nations have been building massive armies toward that end. Egypt, Syria, and Saudi Arabia come to mind. When these nations dare to go against Israel they will be devastated. Also, expect Russia to stay in the background. It is not their time to be destroyed in the great battle of Ezek 38, 39.
3) There is a specific prophecy against Syria that has never been fulfilled. Here is what the Bible says:
Isaiah 17
1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from
being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap
One day the city of Damascus will be completely leveled to the ground. Imagine a big, busy, thriving city being reduced to a ruinous heap in a moment of time. But, what could level a city into a ruinous heap? Doesn't this sound liked the devastation caused by a nuclear bomb of some kind? That is exactly what will happen to Syria in the days ahead. Already, they are actively seeking the destruction of Israel. Little do they know, but their own destruction is coming!
4) At the end of this war Israel will be victorious. At that time there will be no more hostile Islamics inside Israel. This means Israel will then be free to rebuild their temple. The rebuilt temple is very important in Bible prophecy. After the rapture the antichrist will rise to power. He will sign a covenant with Israel that starts a 7 year period known in prophecy as the 70th week of Daniel. In the middle of that 7 year period the antichrist will enter the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem and claim to be the God of heaven and earth. He will then demand worship and issue the mark of the beast to all those who bow their knee and worship him. Those who reject the mark of the beast will be hunted down and killed.
5) Iran is also in the news these days and they constantly threaten the existence of Israel. It seems their main goal is to destroy the nation of Israel. However, the next war is not for them although they may be involved in a limited way. The destruction of Iran will occur in the great Russian magog invasion of Ezekiel chapter 38, 39. This invasion will occur sometime from the middle of the 7 year tribulation period to the end. At that time God will destroy Russia as well as the allies which includes Iran. This means the day of Iran's destruction is coming but that day will not happen until the great magog invasion of Ezek 38, 39.
6) Remember the hostile Islamics have been "baited" into thinking Israel is weak due to their performance in Lebanon. This will give them the false assurance that Israel can be destroyed if massively attacked. Their over-confidence will result in their destruction.
CONCLUSION
As you can see prophetic events are moving forward. When studying current events in light of Bible prophecy it is important to keep in mind that there will be a 7 year period where the antichrist reigns, there will be a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, and the antichrist will commit the abomination of desolation midway in that 7 year period.
This means Israel will remove their internal enemies and have a margin of peace so they can rebuild that temple in their capital city of Jerusalem.
Here are some verses to consider. First Israel can never be destroyed as a people and as a nation:
Jer 31
35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by
day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a
light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof
roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD,
then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation
before me for ever.
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and
the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will
also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have
done, saith the LORD.
Here is another point to consider. Jerusalem will continue to be a problem to the world. This city will continue to be a thorn in the side of the world and be a constant source of problem to them. The Lord warns that all those who go against Israel and Jerusalem will be destroyed. See below:
Zec 12
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all
the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both
against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for
all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in
pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered
together against it.
OLD-TIME CONVERSION COMES THROUGH OLD-TIME PREACHING
The following is excerpted from Harry Ironside's Commentary on
Revelation: "What is needed everywhere is a great revival of decided
gospel preaching, pressing home on the consciences of men and women
their lost condition, despite church membership, if they have not
personally received the Lord Jesus Christ. The Word says, 'Break up
[the] fallow ground' (Jer. 4:3; Hos. 10:12); sow not among 'thorns.'
We often hear people say that they would like to see more old-time
conversions. Well, first there must be the old-time preaching of
the exceeding sinfulness of sin, and the lost condition of all men
by both nature and practice, until the old-time conviction will
seize upon the souls of Christless men and women, and then the
old-time gospel will be hailed as the only relief."

This is what is needed in the pulpits today. May God raise up
Godly men who will preach the Bible. They will preach the fact
that man is a lost hellbound sinner in need of the Lord Jesus and
His sacrifice on the cross. Hell is a real place to be avoided
and the only way is by salvation ONLY found in the Lord Jesus
who is God the Son (Second person of the Trinity).
This is the type of preaching needed in the pulpit. We need men who are committed to the Lord Jesus and seek to faithfully serve Him and to build up, teach, warn, and edify God's people. Instead, we see lots of self-loving psychologists (self esteem heresy) and power mongers who seek big assemblies filled with lost people (purpose driven heresies) who do not love God or God's people. The current state of the pulpits is very poor and many of God's people cannot find a good, solid, Bible based Church to attend. This is a major crime and tragedy before the Lord!
I pray the return of the Lord is very soon as many of God's people are hurting. Many of God's people are unable to meet a basic Christian need which is to have a good Bible church to attend with a pastor who loves the Lord.
This portion of Scripture says it all!
2 Tim 4
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who
shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove,
rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an
evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Timeless Tozer Evangelism: A Cheap Salvation
But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness and handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. --2 Corinthians 4:2
Here again is seen the glaring discrepancy between Biblical Christianity and that of present-day evangelicals, particularly in the United States....
To make converts here we are forced to play down the difficulties and
play up the peace of mind and worldly success enjoyed by those who
accept Christ. We must assure our hearers that Christianity is now a
proper and respectable thing and that Christ has become quite popular
with political bigwigs, well-to-do business tycoons and the Hollywood
swimming pool set. Thus assured, hell-deserving sinners are coming in
droves to "accept" Christ for what they can get out of Him; and
though one now and again may drop a tear as proof of his sincerity,
it is hard to escape the conclusion that most of them are stooping to
patronize the Lord of glory much as a young couple might fawn on a
boresome but rich old uncle in order to be mentioned in his will
later on. Born After Midnight, 17.

Cheap salvation is a false salvation! Did you see this line above?
Some accept the Lord Jesus for what they can "get out of Him". These
people, like Judas, seek worldly wealth and power. They fake a
conversion and join some kind of liberal and doctrineless church
assembly. From there they can stroke their pride by rising to some
form of leadership. Or they may be in a good position to earn money
by business connections or by cheating others out of some money.
These people come to church and are lost hellbound sinners who
love this world and not the Lord Jesus.
Lets look at some Scripture that sums up this situation very well:
Mat 7
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad
is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which
go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth
unto life, and few there be that find it.
Notice verse 14 where it says "FEW" will be saved. These are very sobering words - few! Many hear the saving Gospel of the Lord Jesus yet "FEW" get saved! You see salvation is not for those who seek earthly benefits. Instead, salvation is for people who come to the Lord Jesus with all their hearts as lost hellbound sinners in need of a Saviour! Saved people seek a close relationship with the Lord Jesus and their hearts are toward loving Him. Worldly things are just tools to be used but they do not last. A close love relationship with the Lord Jesus is the most important thing in a saved person's life.
John 3
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that
believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God
abideth on him.
Rom 6
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The easy salvation folks have hearts that are far from God. As a result they are not one of His own. Below is the tragic end of the false Christian who does not know the Lord but is more interested in worldly wealth and power by claiming to be a "Christian".
Matt 7
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which
is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name
done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from
me, ye that work iniquity.
Notice verse 23 where the Lord Jesus tells these people that He never knew them. This means they were never saved in the first place. These lost people may attend a church or do great works but they do not know the only Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. In these last days there are all kinds of false teachers and preachers that are described in these verses. Their heart is "of the world" and they do not want or know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
Contrast the above with this verse:
John 10
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
The Lord Jesus knows His people and His people know the Lord Jesus. There exists a love relationship between the Lord and His people that does not exist with the false professing Christians.
Be assured if you are saved and belong to the Lord Jesus that He knows you and is preparing a place for you in heaven. The impending Divine judgment in the world means doom for the lost unsaved hellbound sinner. But for the Christian, judgment means it will soon be time to go home to forever be with the Lord!
John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe
also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
I don't plan to go into detail about all the false doctrines in that series but I do wish to mention one of them. After doing that we will look at this evil, demonic game coming out soon with the approval of the authors of the Left Behind series.
In the left behind series one of the "Christian" characters gets the mark of the beast so can can continue to work inside the fortress of the antichrist as a spy. This is a major theological error.
1) If anyone receives the mark of the beast they are forever lost and can never be saved
2) No one will get the mark while unconscious or sleeping. In order to receive the mark of the beast, a person must bow his knee and worship the antichrist.
Here are the verses in the Bible that show the above points that I have made are true:
Rev 14
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If
any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in
his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is
poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and
he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of
the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever:
and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and
his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Verse 9 above says to get the mark a person must worship the beast. Verse 10 and 11 says all those who take the mark of the beast are lost forever.
The Left Behind series denies the above two points. As I mentioned above, that is very dangerous and heretical teaching. You see Satan would love to deceive people into thinking they can receive the mark of the beast and still be saved. The Bible says otherwise.
The Lord Jesus warns about false teachers and false prophets. They can be spotted by their evil fruit. I just mentioned one piece of very evil fruit found in the Left Behind series. Here is the words of the Lord Jesus:
Matt 7
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of
thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt
tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt
tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and
cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
The above verses are very clear. Wolves and false prophets produce all kinds of evil fruit. In light of that fact, lets look at another piece of very evil fruit from the authors of the Left Behind series. Here is the evil fruit in a nutshell. There is coming a computer game which is a "Christian" first person shooter. In this "Christian" game the player can be a "Christian" and murder all the forces of the antichrist. Or the "Christian" can be on the side of the antichrist and conjure up demons to attack and kill the "Christians". This "Christian" game will be marked through liberal churches and the target market is "Christian" youth.
Friends, that is evil and putrid fruit from the Left Behind people. But didn't the Lord Jesus did say that evil fruit comes out of the heart of wolves and false teachers? Next, lets look at some further information about this evil game:

"This is why there's a petition and boycott going on."
Tyndale House should be boycotted for licensing a hate-based children's
game that scapegoats religious freedom, exploits 9/11, tracks teens with
spyware without their knowledge of permission, and makes a callous joke
of Christianity. At its dark heart, Left Behind: Eternal Forces is an
anti-Christian game, a ravenous wolf posturing in sheep's clothing.

CONCLUSION
Friends, this is major heresy and a part of the great last days falling away and apostasy. Certainly Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins are showing their evil fruit as they participate in leading people astray from the Lord Jesus.
It is easy to see that judgment is coming. People are being prepared for the soon rise of the antichrist which will occur after the rapture. The false prophets and false teachers are getting easier to see by their evil fruit and false doctrines. God's word is to His people is not to be deceived by all the evil things and teachings.
2 Thess 2
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by
spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of
Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be
revealed, the son of perdition;
Don't be saddened by this news of great evil and deception. Instead, keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus who is coming soon to take home His blood bought people in the rapture!
Luke 21
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and
lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Below is a sign of impending judgment. The lost would blame global warming or some other natural process. Yet the world is ripe for judgment so expect changes to the planet as the earth grows near to the time of Divine judgment. Do not think that the Lord is not aware that the world is very ripe for judgment. People want nothing to do with the Bible, the Lord Jesus, or God's people.
Here is a portion of an article that warns of Greenland's melting ice cap. This is significant in light of Bible prophecy and the coming judgment of the world.
Greenland's ice cap is melting at a frighteningly fast rate

The vast ice cap that covers Greenland nearly three miles thick is melting faster than ever before on record, and the pace is speeding year by year, according to global climate watchers gathering data from twin satellites that probe the effects of warming on the huge northern island.
The consequence is already evident in a small but ominous rise in sea levels around the world, a pace that is also accelerating, the scientists say.
According to the scientists' data, Greenland's ice is melting at
a rate three times faster than it was only five years ago. The
estimate of the melting trend that has been observed for nearly a decade
comes from a University of Texas team monitoring a satellite mission
that measures changes in the Earth's gravity over the entire Greenland
ice cap as the ice melts and the water flows down into the Arctic ocean.
"We have only been watching the ice cap melt during a relatively
short period," physicist Jianli Chen said Thursday, "but we are seeing
the strongest evidence of it yet, and in the near future the pace of
melting will accelerate even more."

There are many signs in the world of God's judgment. Earthquakes,
volcanoes, and the melting ice caps will all contribute to terrible
days ahead! Now is not the time to ignore or reject the Lord Jesus or
to make light of eternal salvation only found in the Lord Jesus.
Today, before it is too late, is the day of salvation!
2 Cor 6
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the
day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted
time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
2 Tim 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be LOVERS OF THEIR OWN SELVES, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such
turn away.
God calls men lost sinners who need a Saviour. Lost people do not need any self esteem. Instead they need to repent of their sins and come to the only Lord and Saviour, the Lord Jesus. This self esteem heresy is firmly entrenched in liberal churches and denies the sin nature of man. People need to obey verse 5 above and turn away from those who bring such heresy in the church. Reject the false self-esteem teachers and "Christian" psychologists! Instead, admit you are a lost sinner in need of a Saviour. Then humbly come to the Lord Jesus for salvation and forgiveness of sins.
Beware of the self-esteem false teachers who claim to be "Christian" psychologists. These wolves seek to redefine sin to be nothing more than a self-esteem problem.
John 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Get the message out! Judgment is coming and it has already started! It is long past time to repent and get right with God! The Lord Jesus (second person of the Trinity and God in human flesh) is the Only Saviour. Come to Him today before it is too late for you!
